Összefoglaló életrajz

Michael Hutchence 1960. január 22-én született Ausztráliában, Sydney-ben. Apja, Sydney üzletember, anyja, Patricia sminkes volt. Két testvére van, Tina és Rhett. Michael Hong Kongban nőtt fel, és itt is kezdte el a zenével foglalkozni. Tehetségét reklámfilmekben mutatta meg először.
Az 1970-es évek elején azonban visszaköltöztek Ausztráliába, ahol Hutchence először iskolai bandát alakított. Itt ismerte meg zenésztársait, Tim és Andre Farrist, akik 1977-től Farriss Brothers néven már zenéltek. Michael csatlakozásakor azonban felvették az INXS nevet.
1980-ban kiadták első nagylemezüket, és ekkor egy csapásra nagyon népszerűek lettek. Stílusuk a rock, a funky és a bluesból alakult ki.
Később nem csak Ausztrália figyelt fel rájuk, hanem Amerika is. A 3. albumukkal, a Shabooh, Shoobah-val már Amerikában is koncerteztek.
Lánya Paula Yates-től született, és a Heavenly Hiraan Tiger Lily nevet kapta. Össze akart Mike házasodni gyermeke anyjával, de sajnos ez már nem történhetett meg, mert 1997. november 22-én meghalt, felakasztotta magát egy sydneyi szállodában. Hogy miért tette, azt nem tudni. Azóta Paula is meghalt.

Az egyik legnagyobb énekese volt Ausztráliának. 20 évesen indult be a karrierje.
Patricia volt az édesanyja (Patricia Hutchence), aki a színészet révén megismertette őt sok híres emberrel. Nastassja Kinski - vel is így találkozott. Szülei különváltak és ő az édesanyjával 1976-ban, elment Amerikába. De nem sokáig bírta a rohanó életet és visszaköltözött Ausztráliába az édesapjához. Következett Sydney és a középiskola, ahol Andrew Farriss lett a barátja. Ő hívta énekelni Michaelt a zenekarába, majd beszállt érettségi után a bandába Garry Beers és Kirk Pengilly. Pubokban kezdtek játszani. Ez volt a Farriss Brothers. Aztán jött a lemezszerződés és nevüket INXS - re változtatták.
Jöttek a sikerek és sajnos az "olyan" nők, a drogok és az alkohol! Népszerűségük egyre csökkent, így Michael próbálkozni kezdett a filmezéssel.
Az első filmje a Dogs in Space (1986), "R" minősítést szerzett. A második próbálkozása, Az örök Frankenstein (1990) volt, de ez sem hozott "világhírt" számára.
Élete minden területen kezdett szétesni. Bob Geldof feleségébe is beleszeretett, Paula Yates-be, ami egyáltalán nem tett jót a karrierjének.
Hutchence 1997-ben találkozott Michael Douglas-al, aki a dalai használatáról tárgyalt vele, az Ál/Arc (1997), című filmhez. Sajnos azonban, legújabb albuma is bukás lett, így a sztár kilátástalan helyzetbe kerűlt!
Gyakran mondta, hogy ő csak egy ember és mindig is az volt!
